Last night I helped out Zoltec to get the KA out of his car. Colin and Adam came over and we did pretty good as far as getting a lot of work done into the night. Hopefully I will see him Sunday racing around and not sitting on the sidelines.
I still need to stop over by Lewe and check out the play in my diff and work some more on the S13, as I've been slacking a lot this week.

Thursday Zoltec came over to help me install the LSD in the carrier. I had the old open diff from S13 laying around so it was no biggie install as we didn't have to pull it off the car first. It was pretty easy to setup. We had it installed in about 2hrs or so? Didn't really pay attention to time and we were taking pics while doing it for a little how-to I am putting together.
I also finished up with the gauges. The water temp is OK, oil temp didn't move, but I only had the car idling for few minutes, but the oil pressure gauge is what has me worried, as it didn't stay nice and smooth, but jumped around. like it would have a bad ground or loose wire, so I got to re-check the connections on that.
The lights work, but are too yellow, so I got to see what I can do about that.
I started to put everything back together, the HKS turbo timer needs better adheseve tape as the one I used didn't want to stick at all. I still need to finish bolting up the dashboard and the glove box in.
I am planning on attending a drift event in Rockford two weeks from now as well as a drift day 13 in WI this Sunday. hopefully Matt can make it too, as he had radiator issue is this weekend and blew his head gasket. He needs to replace his motor within next few days in order to make it to do the event.
Today I ordered some tires from TireRack for the 17" wheels I am planning on getting.

Almost done. Today the wiring nightmare is almost over, I got the dash in, hooked up the gauges, started to secure everything down. I am yet to hook up power, but I am going to wait till the weekend for that fun. Gauges look good, a lot easier to read than the old ones and yet they don't block my view like I was worried they would.

Tomorrow I am going to have a buddy help me with the LSD, so that is going to be a fun install, very excited about it.
If everything goes OK, I will be swapping brakes on the S14 and finishing up the S13 wiring. Because if I need something in the middle of the brake swap and the S13 isn't running, I'll be fukked.

More wiring today. Hopefully tomorow will be last day doing this, as I really want to put the dash back in and drive

More wiring today. I spend about an hour just routing the wiring the way I wanted, extending the wires for the sensors, routing the guage plugs and replacing the one module with another.
I still need to switch up the gauges, wire the boxes for power and test the gauges before moving on to the HKS turbo timer.

This weekend was a Drift Day 12 in Road America. Lots of time riding with Matt, took some pics and a video of him drifting. Hoping to make an animated Gif out of them once I have some free time. I'll probably post the video on google tho, as its fairly easy to do.

Last three days have been hell. I've been dealing with some issues that caused me to be running back and forth between house and hospital where a loved one was going through some serious shit. All while doing my best to stay on top of work and the phonecalls thet were forwarded to my cell. Its been an emotionally draining experience, and just as I think everything is going to be OK, my girlfriend tells me she's sick and I had to deal with that.
ROUGH!

But hopefully tomorrow everything is going to be OK.
The only good thing I got to report is that my traction arms came in. I got them from a privat buyer, but for cheap and they are NEW SPLparts ones, the ones I was always planning on going with.

So after spending the past few days on wiring up all the good stuff in the car, I look at a box on the shelf and in that instant it hits me that the gauge I wired up is the old one with fubared sensor. So now I get the joy of re-doing the temp gauge and all that goes along with it. UGH.

To add insult to the injury, when I went to Joe's place to fix the head, we ended up stripping the one bolt in the head that was most important. "I got a spare KA at the house" I say figuring that we can just swap the heads. Once we get to my house tho, we're just in enough hurry to NOT read the directions and end up fukking that one up as well. 2 motors in 1hr, must be a record of somekind, right?

that was my weekend. Hope next week will go smoother.

Michelle's tank took longer than expected, but Vinny showed up and we got everything done. We ended up talking late into the night, and Vinny was the last one to leave around 12.30 or so.
Before he left, Vinny did help me out with getting some of the wiring wrapped up, although I still need to finish up the connectors.
I think that if I have 2-3hrs I can finish the wiring really nice, so I hope tomorrow will be a fun day.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I got a decent deal on some NEW SPL traction arms from a guy who ended up not using them. So they should be arriving sometime next week.
I also picked up a set of Sarion wheels last weekend, with some negative offsets :D. I can't wait to put some rubber on them and see how they look.
Slowly the pieces are falling into place, but Drift Day is coming up fast. DriftDay 12 is going to be in Road America again, so I'm going to help out Zoltec and hang out with the DT gang.

For the past few days, I have tore into the interior and all the wiring thats under the dash. I took the old dash out, and before installing the new one, I started to clean up the wiring. Since the manual belts are installed, I took off the control box from under the center console and cut the unneeded wires. I saved a spare ignition and ground just in case I want to add something down the line (and they are like 10gauge so they will handle some current). I installed the third gauge on the new dash, started on the wiring for the lights, re-routed the turbo timer and I still didn't get the new dash in.
I still need to route the SAFC wiring, secure the control boxes for the gauges, extend the wires to the senders, install the dash and make sure everything works.
Its very overwhelming working on 3 cars, trying to figure out what car needs what and when and having time to do it all, while still not making my girlfirend totally hate my guts for it. I am sure she's getting tired of it, as every weekend there is something to be done.
So far the plans for this weekend:
Friday:
- Z32 brake swap between the Kouki and Zenki.
- Michelle needs gas tank hole fixed.
Saturday:
- Finish wiring up S13
- Help Joe with headgasket replacement
- Go to Vinny's BBQ
Sunday:
- GF day.

Looks like a fun weekend, but I hope to get done 75% of that whats planned.
