I did manage to get the grease for the clutch and I got the bearing pressed in. I will have to check the tranny for the sensors and dust shield if its not too bad out tommorow. It should be in the high 40s, so thats not too bad.

I am sick now, which sucks. I was planning to get the motor installed with Gary's help this Saturday, but it doesn't look like its going to happen with the way I feel. I guess we'll have to do it next weekend.
I need to get better soon, as even working with fewer is a big pain. I feel OK, but I keep sweating and than get some cold flashes. I hope by Monday I will be back to my normal self.

I got a some things on the TO DO list before I can get the motor running.
1. Get Lithium grease for the clutch job.
2. Press in the throw out bearing.
3. Install and label the wiring harness before the motor goes in.
4. Swap the Dust covers and speed sensors on the trannies.
5. Get the right heater hose adapters.
I am sure that there will be more, but thats all I can think of at the moment.

Its a lot easier to work on stuff when you got tools.
Today, I managed to get started on the clutch job. I got the flywheel and the clutch/pressure plate on, but the TO bearing was kinda fishy, as it didn't look right. It was also on some kind of bracket/spacer thing, dont know what it is. Anyway had to had the old one pressed out, but side by side the old and the new one that came with the clutch are different sizes. Well, the new one is thincker and bigger, but I think its due to the fact that its not a stock clutch, but an aftermarket upgrade, so I will call down to the shop and find out.

Got some more toys in yesterday.
For starters almost all of the tools from HarborFreight came in, which is pretty nice, as I will have air rachet to work with from now on. But I also got some tools from Lewe. Got a nice 3/8 impact gun that is going to make the most difference when taking off the suspension pieces. So the Z brake swap will be a lot easier to do now.
I also ordered a Z32 oil cooler, so I will be looking into getting some fittings for that, and its always fun to mess with the AN ones. :D

YAY!
The flywheel is done, just waiting to be put back in, which I will need to do this weekend. It looks so good when its not all rusted. I probably will install the clutch too, but I want someone to check me before I bolt up the trans and the motor, to make sure that i didn't screw it up.
I also got the damn snapring on the HKS SSQV blow off valve to go in like its supposed to, which only took like 7 trips to different stores to find the right snap ring pliers, and about an hour of playing around with it, while watching TV. This thing wasn't hard to do, just big pain to do by yourself, as I was trying to balance the hotpipe with the BOV sitting in there and put in the ring. In was also the first time I was doing a snap ring, so there was some learning involved as to which tips to use etc. All fun stuff. After I got all my stuff lined up and balanced everything just right, it was pretty easy.
I also picked up a torch for the damn bolt on the VLSD that I stripped. Going to cut the subframe open, heat that sucker up, than try to unbolt the sucker. I just hope its going to work, I would really like to get that VLSD installed at the same time as the Z brakes go in.

It looks like I will rivet the A pillar gauge pod to the trim. So I will need 3/16" rivets.

So did some more cleanup in the garage. Got most of the junk out, moved the Z32 front suspension into the driveway, and I will be taking it apart tommorow. I just want the front spindles and the rest is junk.
I also got the engine hoist this weekend so I managed to take the motor off the stand and set it on the floor. After that, a few turns of the impact and the flywheel came off like butter. Made me look like a pansy, air tools make life easy, and I am glad that I got them.
Good deal, as I need to get it resurfaced ASAP, hopefully I can get a good shop to do it tomorrow.
Also the rear end will have go to Lewe's or Angel's as one of the bolts that holds the Z32 diff if rounded off and I will need to cut it off. Which is easy if you got a torch. Although I can see if the cutoff tool would do it.
Thats pretty much it, payed rent, credit cards, phone, all in the same week, so I am broke!!!!
Hopefully I can make some $ selling the Z32 calipers.

eBay item 7951404350 (Ends Feb-10-05 12:30:00 PST) - 16x8" Rota Grid Steel Grey Wheel Rim Toyota Tacoma: "16x8' Rota Grid"
So I found this set of wheels for my baby. They are pretty nice wheels, they are wide and cheap with +20 offset and should clear the Z brakes.
What else would you need.

I been looking around on eBay (its an addiction and I was bored) and came across a Greddy V-Spec S13 intercooler kit for the S13 for about 600 shipped. I originally was thinking about getting a Blitz LM intercooler, but this is pretty good deal. Luckly I am too broke to get it, so it won't happen and I will have to live without it for a little while longer.

Got some air tools from Gary and Lewe, they hooked me up pretty good, got almost all the basics.
I also ordered some stuff from HarborFreight and got a nice deal on a 3/8 air rachet. All I am missing is a nice impact wrench and a big tool chest to put it all into. Got to start crusing the sales around town.

More of cleanup in the garage, getting her ready for when the action comes. Its amazing how much crap is in there. I kind of feel like I am on one of those TV shows where some people go through your stuff and throw out stuff thats been there forever that you "might use someday"
Well most of that went straight into the garbage. A lot more room for the S14 calipers and other misc parts that I will be selling later on. I will be getting more toys for the air compressor, so I need all the room I can come up with.
