The only thing I got done today was measure the size of the rotors. And they turn out to be the 26mm ones. This isn't much of progress, but saves me from getting the wrong parts. Now to find some time to put it all on. Not this weekend, thats for sure. I might have enough time to go and get the engine stand I was promised, but that is still in the air at the moment. All I can do now is to put in the fuel pump and try to sandblast the wheels and possibly the calipers.

Finally got all the parts payed for. But the bad news is that the check I got today, is pretty much spent, so that leaves me SOL. But with the crazy overtime I have been putting in this week, the next check should be more than good enough to get me some parts. Even looking at the list, there isn't that much left on it. But the Halloween is almost here, the car is not running. But thats pretty much is because the Z32 brakes/5lug swap fell on my lap. Since I need some $300 to finish that, the car "SHOULD" be up and running by TurkeyDay'04!! That would be something to be thankful for.

The spindle situation was crazy! I found couple of places most of them wanted too much or something else was wrong. Either way, got the left spindle and had some fun taking it apart. But I also was able to get the "almost impossible to find" 5lug S14 SE spindles. For half of what I would pay otherwise. But it comes with the whole suspension, so I go to find someplace to keep all this shit. It will be here on Monday, so I need to get my ass in gear, and get some of the garage cleared out. The Z wheels will probably just go in my room, because I am weird like that. he he.
The weekend only got better as I bumped into a friend of mine, who just happens to have a Dynojet in his garage and he would love if it finally got some use out of it, as he never really played with it. So it needs to be calibrated, which seems like no big deal. I just need to find some time to go over and play with it. These 10-12 hour a day weekends are starting to get to me, it's been months since my last day off, and I will need to take a brake pretty soon. But for now, I suck it up and go work my ass off.

Some good news today. First of all, most of the 300ZX suspension is paid for, which makes me a happy, happy boy! Second thing that I found out, all S14 spindles are the same, so 4 lug spindle will work, just get a new S14 SE 5lug hub, which is about $100each (nissan part 40200-0V010). Another thing that makes me happy! Furthermore, the gaskets got ordered at Midway Auto Team, and I should be getting a cool Nissan hat in the color of the car, Nice!! So if Dan comes through, he's got my business for the hubs.
On the side note; Looks like I have found myself a nice job, while doing a side job of my own. From the initial offer that was made, its a part-time, nights and weekends thing, so that I can still work full time, and hopefully squeeze in these side jobs.( Till I crap out, I guess, hehehe.
Oh and more importantly I found a S14 spindle for pretty cheap, hoping to find its match (right front) for about the same money. Also have a couple of leads on a pair of fronts, I will buy what necessary to get the 5lug thing over with.
I sure seem to started with the hardest project first tho, as the rear shocks will have to be replaced with Z32 ones if I use the Z32 upright in the rear. Why does this have be so hard!!!! Grrrr. Unless the S13 upright will work, but I got to look into that one, which is a pain in the ass when I am always working.

Yesterday was very exciting day. I was amazed how much stuff I got done. The most exciting of all, was getting the WHOLE 300ZX suspension!!!! And when I say whole, I mean whole thing. So now I got my 5lug and Z brake swap ready, well almost. The S14 SE hubs that I ordered, turned out to be 4 lug instead. Hopefully I can get the right ones from them. But I got some pictures to take of the Z suspension pieces and hopefully put them on eBay to get some $$ for them. But the Z wheels are a great find, even at the rough shape they are in, they came with some nice tires, and the rims just need some sandblasting and maybe even a powdercoat to make them look great. Me being a lucky SOB that I am, I have easy access to a sandblaster, so that part will be a breeze.
I still got to find time to wire up the fuel pump, which is something that I have been putting off for a while. I will find out tomorrow if the 5lug fronts are going to come in as they should have had, so hopefully that will be taken care off.
Oh and I found the S14 ball joints here at $33 each. not too shabby.

Lately I have been finding decent deals on the net for my parts, and if I can get in on at least half of them I would be OK. The only thing I have problem with finding is the 2-2.25 silicone adapters that aren't in the $20 range. I mean, it's just a piece of hose! If it was a straight, there are a couple of dealers that sell them bulk. At least I got my T-bolts in. Maybe if I get lucky, I win an Optima too.
Not that this has to do with anything, but the name of the color of my car is Juniper Green Metallic. Just found that as I was browsing.

I forgot to add that as of now, I officially have all the funds needed for the motor. But I still need a few more $$ for the other parts, so I am waiting. It also looks like Blacktop instead of the Redtop as I planed on before starting this project. But its still a S13 Blacktop and not the S14 Notchback Blacktop that comes with T28 turbo.

Today was a good day, got a hold of some S14 SE hubs for the front for dirt cheap!!! BTW, Dirt cheap is the next best price to my all-time favorite: FREE
That should be here on Monday. I also am going to get the battery relocation kit, dual oil filter relocation kit and the D34/78 Optima ordered, as with the way it looks the car will not be getting the motor in when I was hoping anyway. Too bad as it would be a monster of a ride on Halloween. But I don't mind too much.

Yesterday I came across a possible 5lug swap for my Sileighty. Its also a welcomed change, as most of the week hasn't been going too well. First the killer wheels that I was hoping for are wrong bore size, and TOO MUCH offset, which bummed me out. Cuz at 14x8 and being old school wheel, they would have been the ultimate sleeper wheels! At the same time, I saw the condition of the brakes, and I know I will need to spend some money on that, before the engine can go in, which means pushing back the swap due to some more money going to other places. But I am proud to say that if the 5lug deal goes through, I will be killing 2 birds with one stone, which is always a good thing. Untill the money comes in, I will be hoping, reading, working, and planning. But I am really enjoying the excitement. Off I go to look for a biggest Optima I can find, I am going to need it as this weekends I have plans to install the fuel pump.

Lots of running around today, got lots of parts and most of the fluids. Spent a small fortune, but who cares. Also some parts seem to be a pain in the ass to find, like front main seal and turbo gaskets. Tomorrow I will try auto store that has more parts available. Hopefully those aren't dealer only items. I also got the fitting for the oil temp gauge, and it looks like the oil pan will need to be tapped some more. But that's no biggie. I go off to updating all the part pages.

Walbro fuel pump finally came in. I was kid of surprised by its small size, was expecting it to be a little bigger. Besides that, I didn't have time to work on the car, but hopefully I will be able to do something this weekend.

Agrrrrr. I knew stuff was going a little too good lately. Today I find out that the sunroof in my ride is aftermarket, which means I am SOL on trying to get replacement parts for it. So that sucks ass.
On the good side, when I stopped by the TougeFactory today, I was able to get a freebie! Nothing too exciting, but still; it was a 2-2.25 coupler I need that goes from hotpipe to turbo and/or SMIC, as they both are 2in pipe. I just need another one like it and 4 t-clamps.

The boost gauge arrives. I was hoping it would be in a little bit better shape, but its not that bad. Few minor scratches on the outside rim, no big deal. I still got to get one more gauge, which is going to be the EGT, but not untill the car is done. Also ordered another fuel pump today, and hopefully this one will be here as promised (hoping before the weekend).
I also got the call form the fuel pump guy. After leaving me nasty negative eBay feedback, he has the nerve to call me and ask to tell eBay that the issue has been resolved. Apparently 3 people didn't get their stuff, so his account got suspended. Hehehe. I'm going to make him sweat a little.
