Got an update from the guy that is sending me the MOMO wheel. According to him, it was sent out on 8/27, so it should be here before the next weekend. But we'll see what happens. Ahhh the price of dealing with eBay sellers. But can't complain about a $20 dollar MOMO :D The condition according to him is "Good shape. not perfect but close." So we'll see.

After browsing the forums, something that I seem to do a little too much lately, I found a good info about which parts from US cars will swap over to the SR20DET motor. I made a little page for it here.

Besides that, I was able to get some side cash by ordering parts for the local guys. I didn't make much profit, but enough for a gauge or two, so its not bad. I am also bidding on a few nice gauges on eBay, hopefully I win those. I did win MOMO hub, but the guy with the wheel is still stalling, grrrrrrrr.

Tonight we went to watch the racing. But nothing is as easy as it seems. While on the highway, and doing speeds that well exceed the local traffic laws, I get passed by a group of 5 cars that I know. Since I am going with a buddy of mine, I had to wait up and not start chasing them. Than about a mile down the road I see them pull into a gas station, but I couldn't make the 3 lane change, so I wait for them on the next light. Give them a call to see what happened and why they pulled over, only to find out that one of the genius drivers had lost a wheel!!! He didn't tighten his lug nuts and the rate of speed at which he was going, didn't help to keep them on. I don't know if he was just putting on his wheels recently or did this happen over a period of time, but I know that everyone checked theirs before they got on the way again. This made me think, that it might not be the best idea to go with these guys again. So next week, I'm going to movies or something.

OMFG!!! I found my X-mas gift!!! This thing is awesome and I want one so bad. But than again thats nothing new. I managed to find video mount that kicks some major ass. Check out GTmount for info. This thing isn't all that expensive either, under $100 for a camera mount is nice, considering the roll bar camera mount is few dollars less. Check out the video, its wild.

This also reminded me about "the supra" video. I will try to see if I can find it and edit it enough to post it here. I probably will create a little section for it as I get more of them.

Since Koyo radiators are on big backorder ATM, next part looks like is going to be the HKS SSQV BOV. Hehehe, lots of acronyms, but its a sequential blow-off valve, and I only hear good things about this one. Everyone that uses it, has something good to say about and prefers it to any other BOV they have used before. Tomorrow I got to stop by in Touge Factory to pay the rest of what I owe for my Exedy Clutch, and hopefully pick it up.
If I have some cash left over, get the fuel pump I've been eyeballing on Ebay for $90 shipped. Than again I got some cash tied up in the two systems that I fixed. I got to finish those. Hmm no time like the present, I guess, so I'm out

Another part comes in. This time its the Stainless Steel clutch line that I got on Zilvia.net Group Buy. Great buy at $24 shipped. Just need to go and install it now.

Also made a list of all the parts I will be getting for this project. Looking at it is intimidating as I am missing so many parts, and the engine isn't even on the list. So it will be some time before everything is ordered and here. But I am slowly working on it.

Tonight I went with my friend to the local hang out, to check out who's got what, and how fast they are. Nobody was racing though, but the guys I met, were mostly into show. Some of them had cars with potential, but mostly nothing worth the bother, even for my P.O.S. Once I get this car together, I will do some major damage, which is always nice to know. They may have the pretty wheels, TVs and big speakers, but it all means nothing when the car starts moving and you actually have to drive it. Mike is getting his EG fixed, hopefully by next spring, we can run against each other. Since he's a good mechanic, he knows what makes power and what doesn't, so he's the only person out of the whole bunch that I am considering as competition.

The 3 gauge pod came in. After putting in the gauges, and placing it on the dash, I think it looks good. Just got to find a nice spot for it thats easily visible. It has 4 screw holes for mounting, so it won't be a pain to mount. Good deal for $10 shipped.

The part that I am going to make the oil catch can out of came it. Pretty nice construction, has some strength to it, I am very pleased with it, especially the 5 dollar price tag. Need some 1/4 NPT fittings for it, but thats available at the local hardware store. Probably will make up some bracket for it too. Oh yeah, its BLUE, which is OK for now, but it may end up getting painted. Flat black comes to mind.

Also stopped by at the Touge Factory and ordered the Exedy Stage 1 clutch. Nothing too fancy, as its going to be sufficient for my needs for some time.

Great find today! I found the perfect sandwich plate for my needs. Write up about it is here here The plate has in and out for the oil cooler, as well as 2 fittings for oil pressure and temp gauges. But it also has a built in 180 deg. F thermostat, that allows the oil cooler to be bypassed when the oil is cool. All that and its only $80, the thermostat alone is worth this much. Now to find a good oil cooler! SP1T adapter Than to connect the oil cooler to the sandwich lane i would need

  1. two straight 8AN to 1/2" NPT connectors (about $5 each)

  2. four 8AN hose ends (about $7 each)

  3. XX feet of 8AN Stainless Braided Hose (about $5 per foot)

Oh yeah, there is a group buy on the stainless steel clutch lines for $24 shipped, so I think I will get that too.

Today the water temp came in, which is nice. Now I have 2 gauges, still need 2 more and all the senders. I am also considering getting a trans fluid temp gauge. As far as senders go, I am looking into the fitment of the VDO's drain plug for the temp gauge. It would be simpler to install, and its cheaper than the regular sender, but I can't find too much info on it.

I also am waiting on the 3gauge pod that should be here. Oil pressure, oil and water temperature gauges will go inside. The boost gauge will be on pillar, in a single pod.

To mount the gauges I am also considering either a oil cooler with the senders in the line by use of tee (like Flex-a-lite's 3961 adapter, or a 1/8 BSPT fitting in the block to 1/8 NPT that is avail on Ebay for about 20bux. The last one would be a better solution, as it has the right thread to mount both gauges and the stock sender, and is pretty easy to install.
